Responsibility for provision of strategic leadership and expert nursing and midwifery advice to the Department, Government, broader health system and regulatory and professional bodies; developing and overseeing implementation of policy on mental health issues; developing and overseeing implementation of policy on the misuse of drugs; managing and overseeing the Department’s input into national policies to address social inclusion.
