Assignment of Responsibilities under the
Public Service Management Act 1997

Governance and Performance Division is responsible for:
Managing and overseeing the Department’s input into the HSE National Service Plan; ensuring ongoing monitoring of HSE performance against Service Plan objectives; the Governance Framework for the Department; risk management; business planning; policy in relation to clinical indemnity; governance of the Department's agencies including the implementation of the appointment process for State bodies in conjunction with the Public Appointments Service; managing the external communications functions; managing and coordinating Oireachtas matters within the Department; managing and coordinating the Department's statutory responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Acts and records management.
